My name is Pablo Izaguerri, born in Mallorca in 1995, but living in Catalonia since 2018. During these years in Barcelona I’ve developed as a photographer, first through free exploration and later at the Escuela Libre Date Cuenta. As an anthropologist, I studied at URV and now participate in the Digital Anthropology and Ethnography research group, ANED, at ICA.

Music has always been a passion — it led me to create Sonomada, a daily record recommendation project; and later to collaborate with outlets such as S’altra Música, Enderrock, Binaural and Nuevas Frecuencias, this time through photography.

I think of myself as a documentary photographer, though over the years I’ve come to notice that the subjects I’ve worked on keep circling back to the same question I asked myself at the beginning. Who and what are we?

I built this website from scratch with two things in mind. First, that our digital sovereignty must come before the platforms — the turn of big tech toward total control of our minds pushed me to take this approach. Second, now that I control the format, who knows whether this initial question can be explored again? I’m in no hurry, but I do intend to make a long search.
